HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ never disappoints when it comes to delivering a show-stopping star lineup, and the 2025 season is no exception. Spanning March 4 to March 23, the Houston Rodeo has once again curated an eclectic mix of country legends, rising stars, and multi-genre performers that reflect both its Western heritage and Houston’s vibrant cultural mosaic. Here’s our take on what this year’s lineup has to offer.

Reba McEntire on March 4th: A Homecoming for a Rodeo Legend

Opening the 2025 season is none other than the queen of country music herself, Reba McEntire. Hailing from Atoka, Oklahoma, McEntire’s 20th performance at the Rodeo—and her first appearance in 18 years—is an emotional milestone for fans and the event itself. As the first woman inducted into the RODEOHOUSTON Star Trail of Fame back in 2007, McEntire’s return signals a powerful start to this year’s festivities. Her timeless hits and dynamic stage presence promise to set the tone for what is shaping up to be a memorable season.

Charley Crockett on March 17th: Texas Roots Shine Bright

Among the exciting debut artists in the 2025 lineup is Charley Crockett, a San Benito, Texas, native whose unique blend of classic country and blues has earned him a devoted following. His performance on the massive star stage in the rodeo arena is a testament to his growing influence in the Texas country music scene. Crockett’s authentic sound and deep connection to Texas culture make his debut one of the must-see moments of this year’s Rodeo.

Parker McCollum on March 21st: A True Homecoming

For fans of Texas country, few moments will be as special as Parker McCollum’s performance on the star stage. The Conroe, Texas, native—just 40 miles north of Houston—represents a true homecoming for the multi-award-winning artist. McCollum’s rise to fame has been nothing short of meteoric, with hits that have resonated deeply with fans across the country. For Houston-area fans, his performance is sure to feel like a celebration of local pride and the enduring legacy of Texas country music. McCollum’s presence on this iconic stage solidifies his place as one of the genre’s brightest stars.

Brief Mentions of Non-Texas Artists

The 2025 lineup also welcomes a variety of talented performers from beyond Texas and Oklahoma. Rising country stars like Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman, Warren Zeiders, and Zach Top, along with pop and rock acts such as AJR and Post Malone, are poised to bring their distinctive sounds to the event. Regional Mexican sensations Grupo Frontera and Carin León highlight the Rodeo’s commitment to showcasing diverse talents and genres.

Fan Favorites and Returning Icons

Long-time Rodeo performers Brad Paisley and Luke Bryan are back for their 17th and 12th appearances, respectively. These two country powerhouses have been crowd-pleasers for years, and their return is sure to draw massive audiences once again. Brooks & Dunn, Cody Jinks, Old Dominion, and Lauren Daigle also make their triumphant returns, bringing a mix of nostalgia and new material.

Special mention goes to Bun B, who continues his Birthday Bonanza tradition on Black Heritage Day, presented by Kroger. Last year’s show was a massive success, and anticipation is high for who might join him this year. With Houston’s rich hip-hop history, this performance is sure to be a celebration of the city’s cultural roots.

Advocacy for Texas Country Artists on Smaller Stages

While the star stage lineup is undeniably impressive, it’s important to remember that the Houston Rodeo offers even more opportunities for music lovers to enjoy live performances. Stages like "The Hideout," the "Champion Wine Garden," and "The Garden" will host additional acts that have yet to be announced at the time of writing this, many of which are expected to feature emerging and established Texas country artists. We strongly advocate for as many Texas-based performers as possible to take these stages, giving local talents a chance to shine and connect with Rodeo audiences.
